With Season 7 in which Rick deals with major life questions about the afterlife, kills Jerry in an experiment, and is embroiled in a plot with the Pope, the chaotic series is only set to feature even more adventures and characters, with exact details yet to be revealed. .
However, in an interview with The Verge, co-creator Dan Harmon teased that Season 8 will feel different after the changes the animated series has undergone. Harmon said, “Season 7 is just one more brick in that journey, and it’s Season 8 that’s already written, when it comes out, I think it’s going to be even more.
“It’s going to feel like a return to form and kind of like, ‘we’re back, baby,’ and hopefully it’s going to be a ninth season, but, you know, more. But it’s going to be because, it’s been a gradual process of just trying to get back wind in the sails.”
The official synopsis for Rick and Morty reads: “Rick is a mentally challenged but scientifically gifted old man recently reunited with his family.
